Finishing September and Starting October

The amount of pictures I took once the kids were back in school and we started being inside more often really dropped.  I did try to remember to take some, though.

I noticed that Haley’s coloring is really improving and she’s using more colors instead of just coloring the whole page one color.  My “baby” is growing up!

Kiera and Blake wanted to go up on the roof with Jared while he hung up the Christmas lights on the very top part of our house.

I didn’t get very good pictures of the lunar eclipse/supermoon, but I tried so that I would remember.

I said to Jared, “I’m glad that the fall colors aren’t around for the whole year because then we wouldn’t appreciate them as much.”  As much as I don’t like winter, I am glad that we get to experience different seasons.

We tried a new playground one Sunday afternoon that was recently built that we hadn’t been to yet.  We randomly met up with some friends there which made it even better!

The kids had a beautiful, fall morning for their first “walk to school” event at the beginning of October.

Off they go with a bunch of other students and staff!

I’m in the current month now, so we’ll see if I can squeeze in a few more October pictures this month yet!

The First Half of September

I had to print a picture of Blake to give to his grade 1 teacher at “Meet the Teacher” night and he actually gave me a nice smile!  Miracles happen every day!

Kiera discovered Pic-a-Pop this summer when her friend had one, so on a warm September evening, we went on a family bike ride to get Pic-a-Pops for the kids.

Kiera brought home this drawing from school which I thought was funny.

The weather was gorgeous on September 13, so we hit up the beach one more time.  We tried Bird’s Hill for the first time this summer and the kids enjoyed it.

Jared and I went on a “more than 50% off date,” thanks to Groupon!

Our first stop was Bombolini’s for a 4-course steak dinner.

I tried crab cakes for the first time.  I am not a fan of seafood but they were surprisingly good!

Our 2nd stop was the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra for their season opener.  After talking about it for 11 years, we finally went and it was amazing!  There was a virtuoso violinist featured and we were blown away by the gift God has given her!

I tried to convince Jared that we should get chandeliers for our house, but it was a no-go.

Now I’m only one month behind with blogging.  I think that’s a record!  I am so thankful for the beautiful fall weather we have enjoyed!  I look around and see so many gifts. :)

A 2nd Trip to Grand Beach

You might be getting tired of beach pictures and that’s ok.  I try to remember to take my camera along on each one because each time we create different and new memories, even if the location is the same or similar.

I had been on antibiotics for 24 hours at this point (for strep throat) and I wanted to relax in the water, but not be all the way in the water, so I moved our chairs into the water.  Problem solved!

We played a lot of frisbee that day, which was fun!

The kids didn’t have very good aim (and the adults sometimes didn’t either).

My Mom had some issues with opening up the popcorn bag and it went exploding everywhere!  Blake is such a great helper!

We went to the smaller side of Grand Beach and there were WAY less people on that side, so it was a nice change.

I love what the water can do to sand.

We stayed until the sun was starting to go down and then we went out for supper on our way home.  I am so thankful I went to the doctor the day before when I was feeling so sick and caught the strep throat early and was able to start on antibiotics right away so that I was feeling well enough for the beach!  Another day that the Lord provided and made me smile. :)
