Teething

Kiera has been teething for the past month now, so she grabs for anything and everything within her reach and puts it in her mouth. The following are things she sucks on:

Her chicken Hermie

Her fingers

Her soother...she actually spit it out about 0.2 seconds after I took this pic...she doesn't like it

Her chain

Her entire fist

My fingers

The parmesan cheese container

Her teething ring

Welcome to the wonderful world of teething, where plastic and hands are the best tasting things around!

Riverdance Finale

Just thought I'd give you all a taste of what I saw last night!

Last night I went to Riverdance with my mom and my sister and words can hardly describe how amazingly awesome it was! It was music made with feet at its finest. I absolutely loved it!! To see 22 people all tapping their feet to crazy fast syncopated rhythms at the same time...I was astounded! I have always wanted to see the show, so it was a dream come true. I know that some people may think that Riverdance is cheesy, but I could care less. Those people last night have been given gifts from God. It's also always been a dream of mine to be in Riverdance, but unfortunately I have never taken tap lessons and it's also their farewell tour, so I guess I'm a bit late. Oh well. The band was phenomenal...they had the best violinist I have ever seen in my life. The sax player could keep up with the violin which was incredibly fast and it all looked effortless! The uilleann pipes were hauntingly beautiful and the singing was superb. My face hurt by the end of it because I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. It was pure joy!

Faith Like a Child

I love this picture of Jared and Kiera! It shows total trust from Kiera that her daddy won't drop her. She doesn't know how not to trust. Then, in the car on the way home last night, I was thinking, "Kiera's life is in my hands right now." I mean, ultimately, she's in God's hands, but she totally depends on me (and Jared in some cases) to feed her, clothe her, clean her, etc. She doesn't ever worry about it and all of her needs are constantly being met. That's when God spoke to me and said, "That's what I mean when I say I want you to have faith like a child." Why don't I trust my Heavenly Father to meet all of my needs like He has promised? I often think that I can do this on my own, or I know best or that my plans are the best, when really my wisdom is foolishness compared to God. His ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. So this is my latest and always ongoing challenge: to trust God with every single area of my life just as Kiera trusts us. Sometimes I don't know who's learning more: me or her.

The Case of the Missing Rolo

Last week, Jared went to the store and bought some Rolo ice cream which was on sale. It's my most favorite ice cream EVER, but it's usually too expensive to buy. So, we had this delectable treat in our freezer for the past week and it was oh-so-delicious. I went to the freezer yesterday afternoon to finish off the last of the ice cream and discovered that it was all gone! Somebody ate the last of my most precious ice cream. I was shocked and appalled! I began to hunt down the culprit. I searched high and low, knowing that whoever had it would certainly pay for their crime. After much searching, many tears, emotional highs and lows, I found this:

I guess Kiera gets tired of having only milk 6 times a day. Can't say that I blame her. She doesn't even look guilty, though. She could at least try to look remorseful. I'm going to have to talk to her about that.

First Post...Simple Things

Hi everyone! This is my first post on my new blog. Wow, the possibilities of what to write are endless. I was thinking about creating this blog last night as I was lying awake in bed and could hardly wait for today to post it. I was giving my daughter, Kiera, a bath yesterday and thought it was funny how she's amused by such simple things. She's approaching 4 months old and is slowly discovering new things. Yesterday, I had a facecloth full of water and I was squeezing it out onto her tummy. She was just in awe as I she watched the water fall onto herself. I took a couple of pictures to capture that moment.

Oooohh...

I think she would really enjoy Niagara Falls.
